The Season of Getting

It’s that time of year again folks. Time to grab your comfiest socks, make some hot cocoa, perhaps throw the TV on, and snuggle up on the couch with your laptop. That’s right: online shopping season is on and it’s going to be a big one this year.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “Ugh, I hate the holidays. I don’t want to see my in-laws. Gross. It’s my weird cousin who picks his nose at the dinner table and he brought his new girlfriend who also picks her nose”. You’re going to have to tough out those feelings of frustration and awkwardness, but trust me, it will all be over soon. What I like to do during these trying times is pull out my iPhone and hit the interwebs for the season’s best deals. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the rush of capitalist greed that hits us all this time of year. As citizens of this incredible country, we have a lot to be thankful for. All I ask is that you don’t take for granted these freedoms while browsing your favorite online merchant. Perhaps take some time to make a donation to a charitable fund of your choice and, if you are really getting in the spirit of giving, do something nice for a stranger. Pick up a bar tab, pay for their meal, or something along those lines. Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s get back to shopping. Now the key to this whole online shopping thing is to really scour the web for deals. They’re out there, you just need to work to find them. For example, these Groupon coupons for Keds are prime deal hunting material, so grab a few of those and keep on looking.

When the holidays get you down and it feels like there is no end or escape in sight from the constant badgering of your mother telling you to put your phone away, keep your head up and treat yourself. There’s nothing like seeing the delivery guy walk up to your door once a day for two straight weeks. Now get to work.
